Legal
Draft. The full privacy policy is being finalised with our legal advisers and will be published here. The points below describe how we work today.
This page explains what personal information the Yoruba Artisans and Traders Association (YATA) collects, why, and how we look after it.
Your name, WhatsApp number, BVN or NIN, bank account details, trade, state, LGA and YATA unit/zone, and the names of any guarantors you give us. If you use Itesiwaju Funds, we also keep records of your requests, disbursements and repayments.
To confirm your identity and membership, place you in the right unit, pay approved funds into your own verified account, track repayments, and contact you about your membership.
Only authorised YATA staff and your unit coordinator, as needed for their role. Repayment matters are shared only with you, your guarantor and your coordinator. We never publish members' names in connection with repayments.
We use trusted providers to verify identity and bank details, host our database and deliver WhatsApp messages. They process data only on our instructions.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by messaging the member desk or emailing us. See our Data Protection page for your rights under Nigerian law.
